A comprehensive resource guide for facilitators of IPCR Workshops, and a resource guide for participants in IPCR Workshops. "The IPCR Workshop Primer" includes many of the most significant IPCR documents (through February, 2010), parts of The IPCR Initiative website--and the much evidence (through February, 2010) supporting the IPCR Initiative's ten point assessment of the most difficult challenges of our times.
A point by point summary which was first outlined in the "Peacebuilding in its Most Compassionate Form" document, and which can be seen as a companion to the indicators set out in the IPCR Mission Statement.
Even if much disagreement remains about the nature of the challenges ahead, the potential described in this paper—associated with Community Visioning Initiatives, and The IPCR Initiative—can be actualized to such a degree that significant gains can be made in many fields of activity. Thus, while we— collectively—may not know for sure what era is coming to an end, and what era is dawning, for some time yet to come, this writer believes that there are ideas and resources enough for such a dawning to occur—and this paper is an effort to provide evidence in support of that belief. This paper provides a most concise overview of the potential of The IPCR Initiative, and includes citations and commentary associated with many very recently published source references.
A summary of the key concepts associated with The IPCR Initiative, using excerpts from previous IPCR documents. No "Notes and Source References" section; refers readers to footnotes from the IPCR document the excerpts came from.
The IPCR Initiative is an effort to apply the accumulated wisdom now accessible to us towards the
general goal of integrating spiritual wisdom into the everyday circumstances of community life—and
towards the specific goal of generating practical responses to the challenges of our times. "Peacebuilding in its Most Compassionate Form” provides comprehensive supporting evidence for the above statement, and is similar to “The Twilight of One Era…” document in that it is an effort to provide a concise overview of the potential of The IPCR Initiative. Includes detailed Table of Contents.
A summary document created to be a section of "The IPCR Workshop Primer". Provides a quick reference way of appreciating why it is difficult to sum up the Mission Statement of The IPCR Initiative in one or two sentences.
7. “Recalibrating Our Moral Compasses” (April, 2011)(29 pages) identifies many of the “danger signs flashing” now (according to this writer’s view). Local community residents can use this “Recalibrating…” document as an example to create documents of their own which identify community values (cardinal points on their community’s moral compass) and the challenges such values need to overcome (the particular danger signs which they perceive as “flashing”).
This paper is an attempt to define “spiritually responsible investing”, and was presented (in absentia—
by a graduate student there) at the “Faith, Spirituality, and Social Change” (FSSC) Conference held at the University ofWinchester,Winchester, United Kindgom, April 14-15, 2007. Begins with three propositions and a definition, all of which remain key building blocks of The IPCR Initiative.
This document is an attempt to define “spiritual peacebuilding”. This writer specifically recommends a
close and careful reading of the section titled “The smaller the circumference, the more accurately can
we guage the results of our actions”.
A survey of inspiring people and initiatives which only covers a fraction of the genuine goodwill being generated in communities around the world, but which is not "coming through the mist as much as it should be". Includes a section similar to one in the "Peacebuilding in its Most Compassionate Form" (which begins with: "Arriving at the belief that a positive outcome is possible is an important step towards actually achieving a positive outcome, and a step which needs to be attended to with
much care, to encourage practical and constructive public discourse. One way of attending to this step in our current circumstances would be to “… bring to the fore what is often hidden: how many good people there are, how many ways there are to do good, and how much happiness comes to those who extend help, as well as to those who receive it”… or, in other words, increase our collective awareness of the significant numbers of people who are currently accumulating valuable experience and establishing constructive understandings relevant to overcoming the challenges of our times.") There are actions people can take in the everyday circumstances of community life which will encourage
the emergence of many such leaders and initiatives.
