The Goals and the Documents

Since July 2011, I have been giving much attention to an “IPCR Critical Challenges Assessment 2011-2012” project.  Due to accumulated evidence and unfolding events, one of the sections I was working on   became a preview of what the final report for the whole “Assessment” project might look like. The title:  “Calling ‘the better angels of our nature’:  A Multi-Angle View of the Debt Crises” (January, 2012) (398 pages)  [Special Note:  "Second Edition"/Updated version of this document, now titled "IPCR Critical Challenges Assessment 2011-2012:  Summary Report" is now accessible from this link, and from the IPCR website homepage.]

The documents for “IPCR Outreach 2012” mailings reference the “Multi-Angle” document, and were created to emphasize

a)  the nature and depth of the challenges ahead
b)  the urgency for honest, respectful, and responsible public discourse on the nature and depth of the challenges ahead
c)  the potential of Community Visioning Initiatives and “Community Teaching and Learning Centers” to provide significant support for the “problem solving on a scale most of us have never known before” that we need to do.

Here is a list of the documents which have been used for “IPCR Outreach 2012” previous to the update of the "Multi-Angle" document (see above Special Note) done in August, 2012 (with links to pdf files of the documents):

1)  Sample Cover Letter A  (pdf file)
2)  Sample Cover Letter B [cover letter A modified to reference inclusion of commentary "Much Unrealized Potential..." (see #5 below)]  (pdf file)
3)  A three page introduction to the “Multi-Angle” document, supplemented by a one page list of nine “Key Themes” brought forward in many ways in the “Multi-Angle” document  (pdf file)
4)  A List of Ten Critical Challenges (which is currently the draft “Table of Contents” for “IPCR Critical Challenges Assessment 2011-2012”) with “The Potential for Community Visioning Initiatives (in 500 words)” on the other side  (pdf file)
5)  A two page commentary titled "Much Unrealized Potential for Community Service" (pdf file)
