Major IPCR Outreach Efforts

1.  IPCR Outreach 2005

The first website for The Interfaith Peacebuilding and Community Revitalization (IPCR) Initiative came online in May, 2005.  In the following months, the founder and outreach coordinator for The IPCR Initiative (Stefan Pasti) sent out more than 500 emails to a variety of individuals and organizations, as a way of introducing The IPCR Initiative, and encouraging people to explore IPCR resources.  The outreach message (additional comments were sometimes included) is accessible in this pdf file—“IPCR Outreach 2005”.

2.  IPCR Outreach 2008

In June, 2008, this writer completed a 161 page page proposal titled “1000Communities2”—which advocated for Community Visioning Initiatives, "Community Teaching and Learning Centers" with ongoing workshops, and "sister community" relationships as a way of generating an exponential increase in our collective capacity to overcome the challenges of our times.  IPCR Outreach 2008 was an effort to introduce the “1000Communities2” proposal by sending out an “Educational Materials Outreach Package” to many individuals and organizations.  This outreach effort began before the “Financial Crises of 2008”, and was revised to include some references to events in September and October, 2008.  The “Educational Materials Outreach Package” included the following:

1.  Open Letter for Outreach Package (11" x 17" format-- display size)
2.  The "1000Communities2" Proposal:  Creating a Multiplier Effect of a Positive Nature   (11" x 17" format-- display size)
3.  9 Different IPCR Business Cards (which can be glued to the front of a file folder)
4. Six Pages Excerpted from The IPCR Journal/Newsletter  Fall, 2008
       (p. 1, 2, 6,13, 23, and 31)  (the file folder can be a "display container" for these excerpts)

3.  IPCR Outreach 2011

From February 2011 through April 2011, The IPCR Initiative sent an outreach message by postmail to many people, in many related fields of activity.

Believing there is an urgent need to build bridges between diverse communities of people, this writer (founder and outreach coordinator, Stefan Pasti) sent out summary information about The IPCR Initiative (“A Four Page Summary of The IPCR Initiative”), and encouraged people to make best use of whatever IPCR material they find which is of value to them (all IPCR documents and resources are accessible for free).

The "Four Page Summary of The IPCR Initiative" makes reference to The IPCR Journal/Newsletter (Winter 2010-2011 issue) (58 pages) which is a most comprehensive introduction to IPCR Initiative (articles include “The IPCR Initiative:  Creating a Multiplier Effect of a Positive Nature”, “Introducing the Concept of ‘Peace Returned on Resources Invested’”, and “A Call to Women’s Organizations Associated with Peacebuilding and Philanthropy”).

The outreach mailings also make specific reference to a paper titled "Recalibrating Our Moral Compasses".  There is a 17 page section in the "Recalibrating..." paper ("Statistics and Observations") which includes many of the indicators which are informing this writer’s assessment of challenges ahead, and which may clarify why this writer believes there are now “many danger signs flashing”, and there is an urgent need for solution-oriented momentum.

Included here are links to pdf files for two sample cover letters (sample cover letter #1 and sample cover letter #2) and a pdf file of the document “A Four Page Summary of The IPCR Initiative”.

The combination of Community Visioning Initiatives, “Community Teaching and Learning Centers” and “sister community” relationships which is advocated for by The IPCR Initiative is an example of problem solving and community building approaches which will help many other people make their contributions to problem solving and community building approaches.  This writer hopes there will be more and more people who will see the potential of this approach, and help realize this potential.
